DaySpring Assisted Living

Visitors to Day Spring Assisted Living follow a covered walkway to a large door with a decorative wreath. Located in a peaceful residential neighborhood, the facility is close to a church. A heavily attended bingo game was taking place during our visit. The hall rang with laughter—evidence of the camaraderie between residents and staff. The long list of activities includes painting classes, group crossword puzzles, Bible study, yarn club, musical entertainment, variety shows, and movies on the big-screen TV.

The interior décor consists of well-coordinated furnishings. Fluorescent lighting illuminates the wide hallways. Each hall is equipped with handrails and leads to a private seating area. The dining and common areas feature more subdued lighting. Cherrywood furniture creates a homey ambiance in the dining area, where a variety of homestyle meals are served. A small resident-tended flower garden rounds out the limited areas for socializing. Residents decorate and furnish their small rooms to suit their tastes.
