Assisted Living Financial Assistance

Texas Medicaid administers an assisted living waiver for seniors, called the STAR+PLUS HCBS program. This may help Denton residents pay for assisted living. The waiver requirements are income-based, and all recipients must first be enrolled in Texas Medicaid and demonstrate that they require a nursing home-level of care. Recipients of the STAR+PLUS waiver don’t have to live in a nursing home; instead, they may use the funds to pay for homemaker and home health care services or reside in an assisted living community.
