The Armed Forces Retirement Home — Washington is located in northern Washington, D.C., near the Petworth and Fort Totten neighborhoods. As the nation’s capital, Washington D.C. is full of political, historical, cultural and recreational attractions, as well as all of the conveniences and amenities of a big city.
The Armed Forces Retirement Home — Washington provides private rooms with private bathrooms and showers to military retirees and veterans aged 60 and above. Residents can receive on-site medical services, including medical, dental and vision. Physical, occupational and speech therapy is also available. The facility can also provide assisted living, memory care and long-term care to existing residents who require them at a later stage.

The amenities at the facility are extensive and include a full-service library, fitness center, movie theater, bowling center and computer center. Residents can socialize in the resident pub, social areas and cantinas or enjoy the scenic walking paths, stocked fishponds and a nine-hole golf course outdoors. Three meals are provided daily, and there’s a no-charge laundry room. In addition to scheduled shuttle service to local amenities, there are regular resident day trips to area attractions. The facility also offers a wide range of daily activities to improve residents’ quality of life.
