Services include congregate meals in specified locations as part of the Senior Nutrition Program, legal assistance, balance workshops, Medicare counseling and a long-term care ombudsman service designed to help ensure that their legal rights aren’t violated. The agency also publishes a Senior Update Newsletter four times per year. 
Access Alameda Life Eldercare(510) 894-0370Access Alameda’s Life Eldercare program includes transportation options for senior citizens residing in Alameda County who need rides for essential errands such as grocery shopping and medical/dental appointments. Volunteers can also help with physical aspects of shopping, such as pushing grocery carts, carrying packages and reading price tags. 
Kenneth C. Aitken Senior and Community Center(510) 881-6738Open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Kenneth C. Aitken Senior and Community Center provides a welcoming space for activities and events. Those aged 50 and over can enjoy congregate lunches with their peers, bingo and other games, book and puzzle exchanges, health, fitness, and foreign language classes. The center also has a hardwood dance floor and hosts various group outings to community activities, events and points of interest.
