San Dimas and California share an average cost of $5,000 per month for assisted living, which is 16.2% higher than that of the United States as a whole. Oregon’s monthly average of $4,659 places it between the San Dimas and U.S. medians for assisted living costs. Costs in Arizona, Nevada and Utah are significantly cheaper, at $3,900, $3,595 and $3,400 per month, respectively.
Assisted living costs vary greatly in other California cities. Costs are $845 higher in Oxnard ($5,845), whereas rates in San Diego are $475 lower at $4,525. Costs are more affordable in Riverside and Bakersfield at $3,900 and $3,613 per month, respectively. Seniors in San Francisco pay $6,100, on average, while those in Salinas pay $7,100 per month.

Residents of San Dimas and Los Angeles County who qualify for the state Medicaid program, Medi-Cal, may be eligible for the Assisted Living Waiver.
