In neighboring Oregon, rates are similar at $4,659 per month, while the average rates for assisted living are lower in Arizona ($3,900) and Nevada ($3,595).
Rates for assisted living care throughout California tend to reflect the local cost of living. In nearby Los Angeles, seniors pay an average of $5,000 per month, while east to Poway in El Centro, rates are significantly higher at $5,825. Assisted living costs in the San Francisco area run around $6,100 per month, while in San Jose and Oxnard, the same type of care costs $5,875 and $5,845, respectively.
