Assisted living in Daytona Beach also costs $250 less than the national average of $4,300. Prices are lower in neighboring Alabama at $3,150 per month along with Georgia, Mississippi and Louisiana.
Assisted living costs in other Florida cities vary greatly. The monthly median cost of assisted living in nearby Ocala is $4,000, while to the south, costs average $4,100 in the Palm Bay area. Rates stay on par in areas like Orlando ($3,700) and Lakeland ($3,945) and increase slightly as you move south to Naples ($4,550) and Cape Coral ($4,500).

Florida introduced the Statewide Managed Medicaid Care Long Term Care Program in 2014 to replace the HCBS Medicaid waivers used previously. With SMMC-LTC, several care services are provided to medically and financially eligible seniors.
