Westborough Royale

Westborough Royale has an atmosphere similar to that of a small, upscale European hotel—perhaps because it provides the same customized attention expected by a loyal clientele. Each of the apartments is well-lit and all are spacious (from 280 to 500 square feet), helping ease one’s transition from a single-family home. The space is sufficient enough to entertain friends and family in comfort and privacy. The common rooms of the facility are elegant and inviting. One in particular is quite pleasant, with a pool table that takes center stage, book-lined shelves and comfortable seating. Skilled volunteers take turns performing on the magnificent grand piano. The dining room resembles a chic restaurant, and its easy-to read menu boasts a variety of choices. “Eating in” is a preferred activity at the Royale; a few of the residents attributed their healthy appetites to the delicious meals.

The Royale offers regularly scheduled trips to places of general interest, such as museums and lectures in San Francisco, and elsewhere to popular shopping destinations. On Sundays, a staff member drives residents to the local churches they attend. Most residents of the Royale maintain close ties with friends and families living elsewhere. The location near a major intersection in South San Francisco makes it easily accessible for visitors.

Most staff members have been employed here for a number of years, a fact which speaks well for the stability of the environment.
