The Oaks of Houma is located in southern Louisiana’s bayou region, just over an hour southwest of New Orleans. It’s within 30 minutes of three different regional medical facilities ��� Terrebonne General Medical Center, Thibodaux Regional Medical Center and Chabert Medical Center ��� all of which work in conjunction with The Oaks’ staff to ease hospital-to-community transitions.
The Oaks of Houma provides skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, long-term care and memory care on its campus. The skilled nurses on the community’s caregiving team are experienced in providing post-surgical care, wound care, IV therapy, palliative care and medication management. Rehabilitation-based services are centered around helping seniors regain physical and speech capabilities following major medical experiences, such as surgeries or strokes. Occupational therapy services aim to help similarly affected seniors relearn the basic activities of daily living, including preparing food and taking baths. Hospice care is also available here.

Laundry, housekeeping and apartment maintenance duties are handled by staff, allowing seniors to focus their free time on their personal interests. Seniors can relax in the hydrotherapy spa room, stroll outdoors in the landscaped gardens, or participate in community outings to area shops, restaurants and casinos. On-site religious services give devout residents opportunities to worship with peers. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus.
