Overview

Care Types: Nursing Care

Welcome to Spring Creek Health Care! Located in the middle of the existing building (station 2) and housed residents and offices. As the needs of the community grew, so did West View. In May 1971, the first addition was built and added nearly 60 beds and a large dining and kitchen area to the back of the facility (station 3). A second addition in February 1983 added the front section to the existing building and brought our total number of beds to 174.
West View Nursing Home was established as a 32-bed facility in October 1964 to fill the long-term care needs of Calloway County and the surrounding area.

In August 1991, West View was bought by Murray-Calloway County Hospital. The joining of West View and Mach's Long Term Care Unit brought our number of beds to 226, making us one of the largest facilities in the state of Kentucky. The hospital's purchase of West View afforded many opportunities, including increased resources and educational opportunities for our staff. West View was also able to offer in-house physical, occupational, and speech therapy, which allowed more short-term stays. …. SHOW MORE

Spring Creek Health Care's addition was completed and opened in June of 2006. The new construction has added 64 beds (14 of which are private rooms), a full-service kitchen, and many improved amenities including a separate room for physical therapy and occupational therapy. Stop by and take a tour of our new skilled nursing and rehab center.

Long-Term Care was established as a 20-bed facility in 1964 and was located in the old Mason Building. The existing unit was constructed in 1975 and offered long term care and transitional care beds. An addition of 20 beds was added in 1976 bringing the total number of beds to 40. In March 1982, the Long-Term Care Unit was dedicated to honor Hugh Houston.

Although the hospital purchased West View Nursing Home in 1991, we did not join as one facility in the eyes of the state until 1996. Around this time, 12 beds were moved from West View to the new long-term care area (located on the 3rd floor of MCCH). The 12 transitional care beds were converted to nursing home beds and moved to LTC, which brought the total bed number to 40 on the second floor and 24 on the third floor. Housing a total number of 64 residents, LTC offers 12 intermediate care beds and 52 beds that are dually certified for skilled or intermediate care.
