Caregivers can assist in the home with housekeeping, food prep and cooking, errands and transportation, companion care and activities, personal care, including, mobility, bathing, grooming, changing, and toileting, transportation and other high needs services or support services.

Senior Helpers of Salem, OR has a State standard background check for Caregivers. Our Caregivers will then go through our orientation and proprietary training, even if they have prior experience.

The Center of Excellence is our onsite training center, which is a simulated apartment modeled after a Client’s home, where the Caregivers learn basic skills and high need skills, around the home. This includes ambulation and mobility assist on stairs and from sit to stand, transfers and positioning for personal care, Hoyer training, Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and Parkinson’s training, and med training. Training is 32 hours of preliminary course and testing and follow up coaching once they are in the field.
