Dennis and Pat worked together for almost 10 years before leaving the marketing industry to pursue other opportunities. Over the next three and a half years Dennis' father lived with him because his health had started to fail. Dennis knows what it's like to go to work each day and wonder,' has Dad gotten up yet, has he eaten, has he taken his meds, has he showered, is he sneaking smokes, or worst of all, has he fallen?'
During this same time, Pat was also experiencing the trials of having an aging parent. Her mother, 85 years old, lives in Indiana and her health was starting to decline from caring for her husband. So, Pat has had the far away from Mom experience. The anxiety of feeling helpless, wanting to help more and wondering what is going on or what has happened today?
These realizations for Dennis and Pat brought them together again to embrace an incredible opportunity: The experience to help others through the difficult and confusing new challenges of a child having to help care for, or find appropriate care for a parent. We pride ourselves on providing care for our client while preserving their dignity and independence. We do this by sending reliable, compassionate and affordable caregivers to the home or wherever home may be. Some of the services we provide are: companionship, meal prep, medication reminders, personal care, transportation, light housekeeping, laundry, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's care.
Over the last five years, Dennis and Pat have grown Preferred Care at Home by finding some of the best caregivers in the area to provide unmatched quality care to our clients. We will not hire a caregiver unless we can see ourselves introducing them to our parents. If we wouldn't let them care for our parents then we would never bring them on our team to care for your parents. Our caregivers not only care for our client, they care about them. Experience the peace of mind Preferred Care at Home can bring to you and your loved one.
