The Personal Care Home has become the preferred model of care in assisted living. The intimate setting and limited number of residents allows for each caregiver to become personally familiar with the capabilities, limitations, needs and personality of each resident. Not only does this result in a more comfortable, supportive and respectful home for each resident, it translates into better protective oversight and assistance. It also allows for residents to better acclimate to their surroundings and their caregivers.

PERSONAL CARE IN COMFORTABLE, MORE INTIMATE SURROUNDINGS
Every resident receives personal attention and assistance tailored to his or her specific need, as well as one-on-one encouragement to maintain as many of his or her abilities and as much independence as possible. No resident is “lost in the crowd” or left behind a closed apartment door to fend for themselves. Qualified caregivers provide daily meals, housekeeping, medications supervision, and personal assistance.

We also take the time to communicate with families to ensure that they are well informed of all care issues. At Fidelis, caring for a small number of residents means greater attention to the care needs of our residents, and greater peace of mind for everyone.

Caregivers notice subtle changes in residents quickly and are able to alert physicians or family members of warning signs and any other changes. Caregivers are always nearby and residents need not rely only on emergency pull cords or similar devices to call for help from a distant nurse’s station. Each resident is cared for and treated like family.

Those with memory loss or moderate, non-aggressive dementia are also well suited to a more intimate environment. Residents easily become familiar with the small setting, consistent staff and a limited number of other residents around them.
