Residents’ rooms surround the common areas, each of which is furnished to resemble a living room; all of the common areas are uniquely decorated. Residents may choose from floor plans that range from one-bedrooms to apartment-like units that feature separate living areas. Residents enjoy ample natural light and lovely views in their rooms. The wide hallways allow wheelchair users to easily navigate the facility. The building houses two dining areas, both of which are beautifully appointed and boast restaurant-style service. Fresh flowers throughout the home are bright reminders of the outdoors. The facility’s grounds include an inviting wooden deck where residents may often be found visiting and enjoying the fresh air.

The relationships between residents and staff are warm and comfortable. The staff members seem well acquainted with each resident’s personality and preferences. Many of the staff members have a long history working at Arkansas House—the manager has been there for twenty-eight years! The residents love to play board games and attend socials. Field trips are another favorite activity.
