Applewood Estates Lifecare Retirement Community is your answer! Located on 44-acres of beautifully landscaped grounds in Freehold, NJ, Applewood Estates offers what is most important to seniors – choice! Applewood residents choose from studio, one-bedroom and five types of two-bedroom apartments, each designed to meet the individual's needs and preferences for space. Four contract options have been tailored to address the current and future financial plans of each resident. Excellent service and amenities encourage an independent, active lifestyle. Applewood Estates is also accredited by the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CCAC) an independent arm of the American Association of Homes and Services for Aging. Accredited communities must demonstrate excellence in financial performance and quality of life standards and services. Applewood also has the distinction of being the first Lifecare retirement community that is part of a progressive healthcare system, CentraState, and affiliated with the Robert Wood Johnson Health Network.

Each of the apartments offers individually controlled heating and air conditioning, a private balcony or patio, plus an all-electric kitchen. All utilities are included in the monthly service fee, with the exception of cable TV and telephone. Housekeeping and flat laundry services and a choice of restaurant-style meals are also included.

Applewood Estates provides many extra amenities such as regularly scheduled transportation in three community vehicles, special guest apartments, a Craft Room a Game Room, the Saucy Apple, a country store and luncheonette, a Hair Salon, Library, Fitness Center, indoor/outdoor heated pool and much more! Applewood also offers SeniorsFirst a free community based outreach program providing educational, social and wellness programs for seniors, plus discounts. All Applewood residents receive membership into SeniorFirst, providing the opportunity for a whole host of friends and activities.

Applewood is a thriving Life Care Retirement Community, the first of its kind affiliated with a medical center. At Applewood, residents have the choice of a full Lifecare package, offering the traditional, 50 percent and 90 percent refundable entrance fee contracts, or our new “fee for service” option that provides a 100 percent refund of the entrance fee. Our refundable choices include unlimited nursing care in our Healthcare Center.

Since maintenance of good health is so important to our residents, we offer an on-site Clinic serviced by CentraState physicians and a Rehabilitation Therapy Gym, staffed with our own therapists. One of the greatest benefits of Applewood Estates is its relationship with a progressive healthcare system, which offers the Applewood residents access to educational and preventative health services, as well as expertise of Board certified physicians and clinical professionals. CentraState has demonstrated excellence in senior care through its successful operation of The Manor Care Center and Monmouth Crossing. If the need does arise for a resident to require temporary or permanent assistance, Applewood offers two levels of care in the on-site Healthcare Center. For Lifecare residents, the monthly service fee pays for the majority of these services.

Residential Healthcare provides a supportive care and supervision, in private room accommodations. Clinical staff is available around the clock, and residents receive meals, housekeeping and linen services, and a full program of activities. Medication supervision is available, as well as assistance with personal needs. The Skilled Nursing Center provides unlimited 24-hour nursing care, and a full range of personal services tailored to the specific needs of the individual.

Applewood Estates has one additional asset – its staff. As employees of CentraState Healthcare System, the staff are carefully screened and trained in the areas of customer services, and caring for the elderly.
