PAYMENT OPTION
Independent Living
Rents in the subsidized apartments are 1/3 of the
resident’s monthly income, after medical expenses are deducted, and include all
utilities other than phone and cable. You are generally eligible for a subsidy
if your income is under $40,000/yr. Only the interest on assets is included in
income.
For people whose incomes are above the subsidy levels,
market-rate apartment rentals range from $598-$943/month, all utilities other
than phone and cable included.
Assisted Living
The following table provides the cost of the Assisted Living Program and the individual apartment size and cost. The cost of the Assisted Living Program for a couple $3,500 per month.

Many of the
apartments at AJA have a HUD subsidy provided for the rental. That means people
with incomes of approximately $30,000/year are required to pay only 1/3 of their
income for rent. You may have any amount of assets or savings, but the income
from those assets is included in your income. All utilities other than phone
and cable are included in the monthly rent.
Other
apartments have no income restrictions. The rentals for these independent
apartments range from $598/month to $923/month, all utilities included.

Allied Jewish Apartments provides a community where neighbors become friends by participating in the wide array of activities, entertainment, cultural and educational events available for residents. The activity program offers many opportunities for residents to socialize and pursue their individual interests. Most off-site excursions include transportation in our van, the Allied Adventurer.
