We reteach daily living skills to residents so they feel valued and having a daily purpose in the community besides have fun. This could include: daily normal domestic task/errands or join us in fun plan activities daily and weekly outside the home. We would incorporate activities that our new resident has enjoyed in the pass or present. We get involved with community culture events so our residents stay connected to their heritage. We use pet therapy with the residents up to hospice level so they don't feel alone. we pair up resident with a buddy. Our residents are happier because they enjoying life to it's fullest. Every 3 months, If our residents would like to join us for a 3 to 5 days at our Vacation Cottage in Fort Bragg, Ca. so they can enjoy nature. We have equipment at the vacation home with the needs of seniors in mind which includes: ramp, wheelchairs, potty chair for non ambulatory residents. We also participate daily at the Redwood Senior Program at Fort Bragg. It's called the 'Circle of Elder' which serves seniors with dementia. Allot of local musicians volunteer since music is great tool for Senior with Dementia
A place for mom sent out a article 'Beyond Bingo' that speaks about the need for this type of environment in senior communities but the nice thing is that we are this residential home. We see how happy and content our residents are. We provide other services for our residents so families just enjoy visiting with their love ones. Call me if you have any question.
