Koester Pavilion is a nursing and rehabilitation facility that provides long- and short-term care. The transitional care unit uses a patient-centric approach to help residents recover from surgery and hospitalization. Managed by a team of physicians, nurses and therapists, the community’s advanced therapy and rehab program includes cardiac services, pulmonary rehabilitation, orthopedic recovery, wound care, stroke and neurological recovery, and physical, occupational and speech therapy. Residents are encouraged to bring in treasured personal items to decorate their private or semiprivate rooms. The spacious private rehab suites are also equipped with refrigerators. Outings, cookouts, exercise programs and entertainment events fill daily schedules, and dinner times provide opportunities for socialization. Convenient amenities also include internet and computer access, cable services and local phone connections. The team also provides a home assessment program to ensure that residents experience a safe, smooth facility-to-home transition.
