Cambridge Court

Cambridge Court is located south of Highway 80 and east of Interstate 635, nestled in a quiet residential area, minutes from shopping and other local businesses. The grand portico at the entrance is surrounded by trimmed lawns and manicured flowerbeds.

All residents’ rooms have windows. Residents furnish and decorate the rooms to suit their tastes. The dining room doubles as an activity space, comfortably furnished with tables and chairs. The menu on the day of our visit featured fried entrées with few alternatives. The building is illuminated with soft artificial lighting. Hallways are spacious and well-kept; handrails are more decorative than functional.

The well-groomed outdoor area provides lovely walkways for residents to stroll. We observed residents lounging on patio furniture and enjoying the warm weather. Another group was participating in a scheduled art activity. The event calendar listed fitness instruction, church services, baking and arts and crafts. Residents and staff greeted each other pleasantly throughout the day. The staff seemed very attentive to residents’ needs. Although the administrator and marketing representative were both fairly new to management, they interacted warmly with residents. The marketing representative shared her excitement about the arrival of a new resident who might help initiate participation from the rest of the Memory Care unit.
