Seniors aged 65 and over who qualify for Medicaid may be able to get help paying for some of the costs of assisted living through the Arizona Long Term Care System. This program is designed for those who need a nursing home level of care but want to remain in an assisted living facility or their own home.

Prescott Valley Area Agency on Aging(928) 775-9993Operating under the umbrella of the Northern Arizona Council of Governments, the Prescott Valley Area Agency on Aging provides seniors with both direct and indirect services. Indirect services include referrals to local, state and federal resources designed to promote independence and high quality of life among older adults. Direct services include fall-prevention workshops, a variety of wellness programs, screenings and chronic disease management. 
CASA Senior and Community Center(928) 778-3747CASA Senior and Community Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Community lunches are served every weekday beginning at 11 a.m. and lasting until 12:30 p.m. Activities include group outings to various local points of interest such as wineries, parks, shopping centers and museums. On-site classes on topics such as jewelry making, arts and crafts, fitness, computers and foreign languages are available as well as workshops on issues relevant to older adults such as how to identify scams aimed at defrauding seniors. CASA also has a thrift store and runs a food bank. 
American Legion Post 6(928) 778-6628Those who have served in all branches of the U.S. military and have been honorably discharged can access services such as help filling out forms for service-based benefits, emergency financial assistance and opportunities to socialize with other military families by joining the American Legion. The children and grandchildren of members may be eligible to receive scholarships from this organization as well. 
Prescott Dial-a-Ride(928) 776-7433Those in need of door-to-door transportation can access customized services through Prescott Transit’s Dial-a-Ride program. All drives hold certifications in basic life support and vehicles are equipped with features designed to promote ease-of-use for those with impaired mobility.
