The Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services oversees several programs that help older adults stay healthy in their homes, including the Program of All-Inclusive Care and the Kansas Lifespan Respite Care Project. In addition to being functionally eligible, seniors’ income must be consistent with the state’s Medicaid requirements.

Seniors can receive most services either in their home or at the local P.A.C.E. facility. Qualified applicants must meet the threshold for Medicaid long-term care and be at least 55 years of age. 
Kansas Lifespan Respite Care Project(785) 296-4986The Kansas Lifespan Respite Care Project connects seniors and their caregivers with a variety of options for respite care ranging from a few hours up to several weeks. The program helps seniors find volunteer respite caregivers as well as navigate applicable Medicaid HCBS waivers that can pay for caregivers from home health agencies and social service organizations. 
Trinity In-Home Care(785) 842-3159Funded by individual donations and the Douglas County social service agencies, Trinity In-Home Care is a nonprofit organization providing light housekeeping, personal care, transportation and mobility assistance. The program’s social workers also provide overnight care and caregiver respite services. The program comes at no cost to seniors who receive certain Medicaid waivers or participate in the P.A.C.E. program. Seniors paying directly are charged an hourly fee depending on their household income.  
Senior Resource Center for Douglas County(785) 842-0543At the Senior Resource Center for Douglas County, older adults can take advantage of free transportation services, get help applying for Medicare and sign up for home-delivered meal programs. The S.R.C. hosts on-site educational seminars, social events and fitness classes as well. During the winter, seniors can have volunteers from the S.R.C. visit their homes to clean the snow and ice from walkways. 
Jayhawk Area Agency on Aging(785) 235-1367The Jayhawk Area Agency on Aging empowers older adults to maintain their health and independence through its nutrition programs, transportation assistance and in-home personal care and homemaker services. The J.A.A.A. also provides health insurance counseling, case management and assistance locating long-term care facilities.
