The Genworth 2020 Cost of Care Survey shows that nationally, seniors pay approximately $4,300 per month for assisted living services. La Quinta’s average cost is a little higher than the national median at $4,525 but affordable compared to the statewide average of $5,000. In Oregon, the average rate is higher than La Quinta’s but lower than California’s at $4,659, and in Arizona, monthly rates are somewhat lower at $3,900. Nevada and Utah are more budget-friendly, with respective assisted living fees of $3,595 and $3,400.
With an average rate of $4,525, La Quinta is among the most affordable areas in California for assisted living. A handful of cities have lower care costs, including Madera, where rates average $3,913, and Bakersfield, which has the lowest rates in the state at $3,613. In Los Angeles, care costs are consistent with the state median at $5,000, while in Salinas, fees are much higher at $7,100.
