Council on Aging St. Tammany (985) 892-0377 COAST is the local Area Agency on Aging that serves seniors aged 60 and over in the Covington region. This private nonprofit corporation provides free, personalized services that support seniors’ safety and independence, including midday congregate meals, recreational and social activities, volunteer opportunities and transportation services. It also provides legal consultation and assistance on non-criminal matters, as well as information and assistance for seniors seeking services and supports in the community.  
Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs St. Tammany Parish Office (985) 893-6201 Covington is home to the parish’s LDVA office. At this location, trained officers help veterans identify and apply for benefits that they’re entitled to. Qualifying veterans may apply for benefits such as veterans’ home placement, emergency assistance, healthcare services through the VA, tax exemptions and pension and disability payments, which may help them cover assisted living expenses.  
Covington Activity Center (985) 892-8530 Seniors may participate in social and recreational activities at the Covington Activity Center, a local senior center operated by COAST. The center hosts activities such as games, midday congregate meals, Stitched 2gether sewing groups, line dancing and SAIL exercise classes.
