Wyandotte Co-op is pleasant & affordable housing where residents have a voice in the management of their building. The building was recently remodeled. All units have new kitchen cabinets, new carpet and new stoves. Most of our studio apartments have been converted into spacious one-bedroom units.
Wyandotte Senior Apartments is conveniently located off Biddle Avenue adjacent to the Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital just outside of downtown Wyandotte. Within walking distance of the building is Bishop Park, located on the bank of the Detroit River. The building has 11 floors, each of which has its own lounge and balcony. The lower level is equipped with a community room, kitchen and laundry facilities. The community room is where monthly meetings are held and where members have a voice in the management of their building. The kitchen is useful for the various breakfasts and dinners that the members like to put on for the building. There are also two patios on the grounds of the building for relaxing summer days.
Wyandotte Senior Apartments prides itself on being one of the most affordable places to live. The rents are low and there are a limited number of subsidized units in the building.
Applicants aged 55 years or older who are verified physically disabled (mobility
impaired) individuals are eligible for residency and may request reasonable
modifications to make their unit more accessible. All applicants who are
aged 55-61 must submit a complete Verification of Disability Status-Mobility
Impairment for Buildings Built Prior to 1977 form to certify their
eligibility.
So if you're interested in pleasant, affordable housing, wait no longer! Wyandotte Senior Apartments is the place for you! Please come and see for yourself. We offer daily tours of the building.
The members of Wyandotte Cooperative Apartments enjoy having parties, picnics at the nearby park, dinners, luncheons and open houses. The residents of this building are active year round. Most of the members engage in bingo playing on a weekly
basis. Please visit our company website at www.csi.coop where the current wait status by unit type will be shown and where the required paperwork necessary to start the application process can be obtained.
"The first night I put my head down on my pillow here in the Wyandotte Co-op, the most beautiful feeling came over me. Suddenly, I had happy feelings of being a small child on Christmas Eve. Joy, contentment and peace, I felt so safe. All my worries, stress and frustrations of having to get a house ready to sell, and the sale of my house I had lived in for 39 years, dropped away. That was September, 1998, and I have felt happy here ever since."
