Welcome to Winslow Gardens! Winslow Gardens Assisted Living is located in a ten story apartment building in a residential area of East Providence, Rhode Island. It is conveniently located near a bus line, restaurants and shopping. Winslow Gardens Assisted Living shares the building with an independent retirement community for people ages 62+ who meet the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s income guidelines.
Most of the assisted living apartments are spacious one room studios, however one bedrooms and alcoves are also available. They all have kitchenettes with microwaves and private bathrooms that are accessible for people with disabilities.
Shared community space includes an all-purpose library and media room where residents can check out a book, watch TV, work on a puzzle or access the internet. In the warmer weather, residents enjoy the patio with its lush garden of flowers, plants and shade trees. In the winter months, residents are often found in the sunroom by the fireplace or enjoying the sunshine through large picture windows while listening to the water fountain.
Our vibrant activities department provides daily opportunities to become involved in the community, such as exercise classes, Bingo, crafts and on-site performances or lectures. The United Methodist Elder Care van gets regular use as it transports residents shopping to various stores or to restaurants and special outings. Lunch is the most popular meal of the day as many residents socialize in the dining room. The meals are available to all residents of Winslow Gardens: both assisted living and independent living. On Fridays, Saturdays and Tuesdays, the hairdresser is on duty at the salon located on the first floor of the Linn Health Care Center. Religious services take place in our chapel led and organized by our onsite chaplain. Linn Health Care Center is accessed through an indoor hallway, which makes visiting friends in the nursing home an easy task.
