Assisted Living Apartments

Rates are for unfurnished, single occupancy and include daily meal service, emergency call systems, scheduled transportation, carpet, drapes, kitchen appliances, utilities except telephone, and availability of common areas and activities programs.

Personal care units additionally include availability of attendants on a 24-hour basis, assistance in bathing, medications, and dressing, plus weekly bed linen and bi-weekly housekeeping services

A charge of $500 per month in Personal Care is made for a second occupant.

A security deposit of $500 is required upon admission. Minimum stay of 14 days. Rates are firm for 12 months following completion of a Residency Agreement, but are subject to change without notice for unexecuted Agreements.

24 Hour Nursing Care

Rates include nursing care, meals, linens, maid service, personal laundry, and activity program. Drapes, bedspread, and furniture are also included; however, residents may bring some of their own furniture. Arrangements for telephone service must be made with the phone company.

A security deposit of $500 is required upon admission. Minimum stay of 14 days. Rates are firm for 12 months following completion of a Residency Agreement, but are subject to change without notice for unexecuted Agreements

Rates are for furnished, single and double occupancy and include nursing care, daily meal service, electronically monitored access, linen, maid service, and personal laudry. Residents may bring in some of their own furniture. It is our policy that television and telephone not be utilized in the resident's room.

Walnut Place Assisted Living apartments offer residents the best of both worlds. The privacy and security of an individual apartment and the personal attention and care of the Walnut Place staff. All in a community setting.

Assisted Living apartments are available in a variety of sizes from efficiencies to two bedrooms. Each is complete with a kitchenette, private bath and living area.

Support services are as close as a call button in each apartment. Residents in Assisted Living apartments enjoy a unique combination of independence and assistance. Here we provide assistance from personal grooming, linen and cleaning services to a friendly reminder to take medications on time. Dining services with personal menu selections are provided in dining rooms conveniently located on each floor.

In our Assisted Living apartments, privacy is combined with community life, scheduled trips, shopping, arts and crafts classes and other social activities -- a combination that encourages residents to keep their independence and remain active.

Walnut Place offers three distinct levels of care within the Nursing Care section of the facility. Custodial care, intermediate care and skilled care offer services suited to the individual needs of our residents.

Providing a complete array of services within the same building means that residents may stay in one familiar environment, surrounded by friends and familiar staff. There is no need for a resident to leave Walnut Place should a greater level of care be needed.

Each of the three Nursing Care floors encompass one distinct level of care. Ambulatory residents and those requiring more specialized attention live on different levels than residents requiring only custodial care.

On each floor graciously decorated rooms and suites, both private and semi-private, are arrange in "neighborhoods" around a central dining room and nurse's station. Genuine friendships and engendered in this atmosphere of comforting familiarity. Both residents and staff members are a part of the neighborhood.

Individualized care at Walnut Place is directed by a team of graduate, registered nurses, advisory physicians and other professionals experienced in long term care. Meal services are prepared under the direction of a full-time registered dietitian with residents enjoying personal menu selections on a daily basis. Special diets, as required, are routinely provided. Complete medical services including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and pharmacy services are also available to meet the full range of resident needs.

Walnut Place offers highly-specialized care for Alzheimer's patients. In a self-contained unit, trained staff members create a warm, understanding environment designed to meet the unique needs of Alzheimer's residents.

At Walnut Place, we believe that the appropriate placement of each resident is essential. Selective admission into Alzheimer's Care includes pre-admission screening and ongoing evaluation.

The Walnut Place Alzheimer's Care Unit maintains a high staff-to-resident ratio where attentive professionals offer individualized programming for each resident. Our care management style is gentle, not confrontational, and supportive, not restrictive. We strive to maintain a serene home away from home where a sense of well-being is assured.

Access to the Alzheimer's Care Units is electronically monitored. Accommodations are available in both private and semi-private rooms. Meals are served in a private dining room where assistance is always readily available. Escorted visits to an enclosed garden area provide fresh air and recreation.

Because dementia affects not only a patient but also that patient's family, we offer opportunities for family involvement. An initial family orientation is given at the time of admission, and family support groups meet on a quarterly basis.
