The Heritage is located at 127th & Switzer in Overland Park, Kansas. Our community is independently owned and operated, and will offer a unique approach to providing Alzheimer's care services in the Kansas City area. Our mission strives to make every day the best it can be for each resident through our innovative approaches.

We believe The Heritage is unlike any other memory care facility in the area. There are numerous things that make our community unique:

• First, there are three separate, state-of-the-art homes together on the same property, each consisting of 16 private apartments with private bathrooms. Each home also has many distinctive features including exceptional activity and life skills areas, beautiful patio and courtyard with gardening boxes, living room with fireplace, sunroom and porch, outside walking paths, serenity room, and many other beautiful features.

• Second, having three smaller residential homes, rather than one large facility, gives us a unique opportunity to provide a personalized approach to care along with an environment that promotes a sense of being at home with family and friends. This comfortable feeling and family-style living is the essence of what we are striving to accomplish at The Heritage.

• In addition, we have teamed up with Northwest Missouri State University's Recreational Therapy program to create an innovative activities program that will be individually tailored to each resident's interests, comfort level, strengths, and abilities. This program will be supervised by an accredited Recreational Therapist and will promote an environment that provides the encouragement, support and ability to live an active and meaningful life.

• Finally, we understand the financial cost of caring for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other memory impairments. We know that an individual's needs and abilities can change daily. Our philosophy is to provide whatever assistance is needed on any given day and not to worry about identifying costs associated with levels of care. We embrace an affordable, all-inclusive pricing structure rather than charging for levels of care by calculating points or time.

Community Amenities & Services:

At The Heritage, we know that an individual's needs and abilities can change daily and as a result, their need for assistance can change from day to day as well. Our philosophy is to provide whatever individual assistance is needed at any given time to care for our residents at an affordable and predictable rate.

• Clinical Oversight by our Medical Director & Licensed Nurse
• On-Site Physician Services
• On-Site Rehab Services
• Emergency Response and Safety Management
• 3 Daily Meals (plus snacks and refreshments) - approved by a registered dietician
• Weekly Housekeeping, Laundry and Linen Services
• Daily Housekeeping Service - assistance with bed-making, trash removal & 'clutter control'
• Utilities - includes gas, electric, water, and trash removal
• Transportation - group transportation provided; individual transportation available
• Daily Social & Recreational Programs - managed by our certified recreational therapist
• On-Site Barber & Beauty Salon - offered on a private-pay basis
• Property & Grounds Maintenance
• 24 Hour Staffing -Trained, professional staff provide resident support and care

Individual Care Services:

Each resident will have an individual Life Care Plan that identifies their unique need for support and personal care. This plan is developed and regularly updated by our Wellness Director with ongoing input from family members, staff, and medical professionals.
