Residents at The Haven live in one of 3 neighborhoods, each specifically programmed and staffed to address the care needs of those with either beginning, middle or advanced stages of memory impairment. The three neighborhoods are designed for social and recreational activities with a living room, dining room, activity room and indoor walking areas. Each neighborhood also has a landscaped courtyard with a walking path, raised planting beds and a screened porch.
Individuals with Alzheimer’s and other dementia find comfort and reassurance from positive interactions and from a sense of neighborhood and companionship. Creating such a positive environment is the inspiration behind our unique Main Street life skills area. With interactive activity areas such as a beauty parlor and ice cream shop, Main Street recreates a sense of the community and routines familiar to our residents.
Each apartment is a well-planned, customized environment providing residents with a simplified home. Visual cues such as two-toned toilets give added confidence to residents whose depth perception may have diminished. In addition, The Haven features bathing spas with specially designed showers and whirlpool tubs.
Family and visitors will especially appreciate The Haven’s Public House, a completely separate area for public interaction with The Haven staff, which protects the dignity of our residents.
Nutritional, good tasting meals are served family-style three times daily in each neighborhood.

The Haven is committed to maintaining on-site licensed nursing around the clock because we know and believe in the difference it makes in the overall care of our residents. The experience and knowledge provided by our Registered and Licensed Practical Nurses are important in communicating changes in care and needs to both physicians and families.
We feel certain that resident and family member comfort is at its highest level knowing that a caring qualified nurse is leading a care-giving team every day on every shift.
