PAYMENT OPTION
Financing Helps You Make Choices to Fit Your Budget
Townhomes, cottages and apartment homes at Presbyterian Manors are financed through three plan options.
75/25 Plan
The 75/25 Plan provides you with the means to preserve personal resources for future use. It is designed to allow for 75 percent of the money invested to be refunded to the resident or his/her estate upon leaving the Manor community. The non – refundable portion (25 percent), remains with the Manor to provide for refurbishing the vacated unit and assist in the Manor/Village in furthering its mission to provide quality services to residents. This plan allows for a lower monthly maintenance fee.
Life Use Plan
The Life Use Plan provides you with the lowest up front investment of the plans. It represents prepaid "rent". With a 20 percent non – refundable deposit, the remaining 80 percent is reduced 10 percent each year over10 years. Any remaining funds at the time the resident leaves the Manor community is returned to the resident or his/her estate.
For example, a one – bedroom apartment Life Use Plan investment of $45,000 amortizes as follows:
$45,000 x 20% =$9,000 for $36,000 on deposit
| Available refund |
| Year 1 = $32,400 |
Year 6 = $14,400 |
| Year 2 = $28,800 |
Year 7 = $10,800 |
| Year 3 = $25,200 |
Year 8 = $ 7,200 |
| Year 4 = $21,600 |
Year 9 = $ 3,600 |
| Year 5 = $18,000 |
Year 10 = $ – 0 – |
Refunds for these plans are generally made within 30 days of a resident leaving the community, however, it is contingent upon re – occupancy of the apartment, townhome or cottage.
Monthly Fee
Both the 75/25 and Life Use Plans are accompanied by a monthly fee based on whether it is an apartment, townhome or cottage home.
Deposit for Care Benefit
Depositors who move within the Manor or Village to higher levels of care may access the unused portion of their deposit, excluding the non – refundable percentage, as a Deposit for Care toward the higher monthly fees for assisted living or the health care center. Should the resident leave the Manor or Village, the remaining balance, excluding the non – refundable deposit is refunded to the resident or his/her estate.
Rental Plan
Our monthly rental plan provides residents with all the program opportunities and amenities offered at our Manors and Villages without a major capital investment. There is no long – term lease agreement required. Monthly fees are based on whether you choose an apartment, townhome or cottage.

Assisted Living at Presbyterian Manors
Assisted Living at Presbyterian Manors is about freeing you from everyday tasks and worries so you can enjoy what you like most. We're there for you when and as you need us, our goal is to provide an environment in which you may find your limits or push them. You can even take advantage of opportunities to learn something new with the many different activities and programs.
Many residents find that when they no longer worry about day – to – day home upkeep and social gatherings are just a few steps away, they have more independence and freedom than managing on their own. Along with the many activities and programs at the Manors and Villages, there's plenty to engage in for fun, learning and wellness.
Whether a little or a lot of support is needed, programs and services are provided based on the Level of Care Assistance Plan which provides information on physical health and support needed for daily tasks.
We offer several levels of Assisted Living to meet residents' needs. This may go up or down as they become more self – sufficient or need more help. Our goal is to enhance quality of life by encouraging improvement in residents' ability to manage daily tasks.
In Kansas, assisted living is licensed and surveyed regularly. In Missouri, assisted living is referred to as residential care and is state licensed. Whatever you call it, assisted living at Presbyterian Manor is about helping you live the way you want to live.
Health Care Centers at Presbyterian Manors
For those who need our highest levels of care.
Presbyterian Manor retirement communities have a strong reputation for caring for those who need our highest levels of care, whether short – term to recuperate from illness or injury, or long – term. Services offered through our Health Care Centers are provided based on an individualized plan, with nursing services available 24 hours a day.
With six levels of care, we are able to adjust care and services to meet our residents' needs as their physical and mental health may change. A full range of physical, occupational and speech therapy services is available.
Care is planned to help maintain as much independence as possible. We are proud of the locations this past year receiving special recognition for their innovative care as all our Presbyterian Manors and Villages work to provide the best possible quality of life for health care residents. As continuing care retirement communities, Presbyterian Manor health care residents have additional choice should their conditions improve to move to assisted living or an apartment home.
Programs and activities may range from exercise to a game of checkers to a trip to the local science exploration center. Here is where we have the most interaction through Sky's the Limit, an intergenerational program, to bring children and residents together to learn, share and create.
Commons areas foster gathering and chatting, and are places to enjoy a good book with the sun streaming in through the windows. Many of our locations have landscaped courtyards perfect for enjoying the Kansas and Missouri weather.
What our families find is that their parents are in compassionate, qualified hands to provide the care needed. We hear it so often, " my Mom sure gets good care, " or " we're so glad Dad is at the Manor. "
Our Health Care Services are Medicare and Medicaid certified. We are surveyed regularly by our respective states for recertification.
Health Care Services are probably the area that people think of most when someone says " nursing home. " We invite you to visit and let us dispel your images of a " nursing home " and introduce you to today's long – term care.
Presbyterian Manors Retirement Communities Offer Services for Today and Tomorrow
Most of our Presbyterian Manors of Mid – America retirement communities are what is called a continuing care retirement community or CCRC. That means whatever the future may bring, you will have access to the range of services we provide, without making a major move.
What makes a Presbyterian Manor retirement community?
Townhomes, cottages and apartments at our retirement communities are designed to provide you with a selection of services you choose to free up as much time as you wish. We refer to it as "independent living," but it's much more than that. It's the freedom to do what you enjoy most, without worrying about home maintenance and chores.
Assisted Living provides short – term extra assistance if your physical needs change. We offer several levels of assisted living with programs and services to encourage improving independence.
In the health care center, you can recuperate after surgery or we're here for you if there is a significant change in health conditions. We can take care of you at our highest levels of care. In several of our locations, we also provide memory care for those with Alzheimer's, dementia, or similar illnesses.
We offer financing options for our retirement communities that help you make a move that fits your budget and desire to have funds on hand for future care needs.
That's one of the advantages of a continuing care retirement community, should the need arise in the future, you and your family aren't making decisions about where you live at a time when you may be in a health crisis. Services are here on one campus.
Memory Support
Because this isn't just another person with Alzheimer's or dementia
Your loved one is first and foremost an individual with his or her own needs. It takes special attention to provide the right environment for those with memory loss due to Alzheimer's or dementia to make as many connections to the present as possible and reinforce the memories they hold onto.
Whether memory loss is caused by Alzheimer's, dementia or a related illness, Presbyterian Manor retirement communities offer living options that provide programs designed to engage the mind, offer social opportunities and professional support to meet your loved one's needs.
Each of our employees is specially trained to work with our residents with memory loss. Supportive Therapy for Aging Residents (STAR) training is provided initially with ongoing education and training to keep each employee current with the best practices in caring for residents with memory loss.
Presbyterian Manors pioneered providing care specially tailored for seniors with Alzheimer's or dementia in 1986 when they opened the first memory care unit in Kansas at the Newton location. Since then, we've learned from our residents, from experts in this field of care and are proud of the reputation we've earned for providing the care and services our residents need, providing you with the peace of mind that your loved one is in an environment that is supportive, challenging and helps them live as you'd want them to live.
