Some of the services offered at Penick Village are…
Residence Furnishings : The residence is furnished at our expense with standard floor covering, standard window coverings, self-defrosting refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, range and oven, dishwasher, microwave oven, garbage disposal, washer/dryer, emergency call system, fire sprinkler system and telephone jacks. Certain structures built prior to December 31, 2000 may not include certain furnishings described above, and availability of these furnishings depends on the Residence selected.
Parking : Parking areas are provided for you and guests of Penick Village .
Community Common Areas : You may use Penick Village common areas in accordance with the Penick Village Resident Handbook, as modified and amended from time to time. Community common areas are non-smoking and include but are not guaranteed or warranted to include:
- Chapel
- Lounges
- Dining rooms (offering breakfast, dinner and supper daily)
- Library
- Barber/beauty salon
- Card/activity room
- Multi-purpose/media room
- Exercise Room
Included General Services : So long as you are in compliance with your obligations hereunder, we provide the following services covered by the Monthly Service Fee and Entrance Fee.
- Food Service : Breakfast, dinner, and supper are served on a daily basis. Although we serve three meals a day, the Resident Contract actually calls for only one a day, unless an individual is in a Single Room type accommodation. However, for a nominal charge, one can sign up for all 3 meals a day, should they prefer. You may purchase additional meals or use accumulated meal credits at any time during the month for meals for you and/or your guests. Any unused meal credits for any month are forfeited and may not be applied as a credit against meal charges for any other period. However, if you are absent from Penick Village for more than fourteen (14) consecutive days, you will receive meal credit allowance, in conformance with our meals credit policy, provided you give Penick Village written notice of your intended absence at least two (2) weeks in advance. For health-related absences, no prior notice is required.
- Housekeeping: Housekeeping of the Residence, including vacuuming, cleaning, mopping, sweeping and changing bed linens occurs on a weekly scheduled basis.
- Utilities : The costs of sewer, water, waste disposal, electricity, air-conditioning, and basic cable television service are included in the Monthly Service Fee. The Residence is centrally wired for cable television and telephone service. You are responsible for all telephone, premium cable television, if available, and internet service provider charges.
- Security and Emergency Alert System : Residences are equipped with smoke detectors and sprinkler and emergency alert systems, except certain structures built prior to December 31, 2000 that do not include fire sprinkler systems. Penick Village staff monitors the emergency alert systems around the clock and coordinates emergency responses, as appropriate.
- Laundry : We provide scheduled weekly laundry service of your personal bed linens if supplied by Penick Village unless otherwise specified by the Residency Agreement.
- Maintenance : We maintain all community common areas and grounds and repair, maintain and replace equipment and furnishing provided by us, unless such repairs are required as a result of your negligence. You are responsible for maintenance of your personal property and are encouraged to purchase a renter's insurance policy covering your personal property and personal liability.
- Transportation : We provide scheduled group transportation to shopping, medical facilities, social and cultural events, and other local destinations. For larger group events requiring transportation or destinations outside of Southern Pines, a transportation charge may apply.
- Spiritual Programs : A full-time Chaplain coordinates a variety of spiritual programs for those residents wishing to participate.
- Social, Educational, Cultural and Recreational Programs : A full-time Program Director coordinates a variety of social, recreational, educational and cultural programs for those residents wishing to participate.
