They say there are no guarantees in life, but at Merrill Gardens, we are out to change that! Each community offers a satisfaction guarantee: If any resident who moves into a Merrill Gardens community is not completely satisfied with their new home - we will refund their money for the first 60 days of occupancy!

"We know that making the decision to move into a retirement community is a big step and we want to show new residents that we are confident that they will be happy in their new home. By offering the guarantee, residents know that we stand by our commitment."

How the 60-Day Satisfaction Guarantee Works
- The Merrill Gardens Guarantee applies to the first 60 days of your base rent only. Assisted Living services are not included.
- If for any reason you are not satisfied living at Merrill Gardens and you choose to move within your first 60 days of residency, just notify your General Manager in writing.
- A request for a refund will be issued at the time a notice is received. If the apartment is not vacated after the initial 60 days, all extra days will be charged.
- The Merrill Gardens Guarantee only applies to Retirement and Assisted Living communities. Guarantee not applied to Alzheimer's services.

Caring vs. Providing Care
Our Assisted Living Service Program is focused on nurturing residents to help them reach their maximum potential. Our staff seeks to foster independence rather than dependence, and to be sensitive to the individuality, privacy and freedom of choice to which our residents are entitled. In short, care is something we do, not simply a service we provide.
Personal Care Services
Our program generates an individually tailored service plan that supports the resident's own ability to perform activities of daily living. Services we can assist with may include:

Responding to Change
We meet the changing needs of our residents by offering a fee structure that addresses the degree of need and frequency of interaction. The resident's monthly fee may increase or decrease as their needs change. Our trained staff documents services provided, and notes trends that may demonstrate a higher level of need.
Team Work
It's a team effort that works best. In order to meet our residents' needs, we are in frequent contact with families as well as physicians, counselors or therapists to discuss any challenges we may encounter.

Merrill Gardens calls our dementia care area the Garden House. At the Garden House, we are committed to providing your loved ones with Alzheimer's Disease, or related memory impairment, care in a home-like atmosphere. Garden House residents can enjoy:

Personal Pathways Activity Program
The journey along a pathway is often more important than the destination, especially in dementia care. Personal Pathways is Merrill Gardens' program for the Garden House that focuses on meaningful activities. Our goal is to help maintain independence and quality of life during the progression of Alzheimer's and related dementias. Personal Pathways offers activity choices that allow each resident to spend time in ways that can be meaningful and enjoyable to them. Each resident has a Personal Life History completed upon move-in to let us know of individual activities that may be of interest to them. Specially trained caregivers incorporate meaningful activities into daily life in the Garden House. Caregivers are encouraged to facilitate creative activities respecting the uniqueness of each community and individual. The Personal Pathways component allows individual differences in locale, culture, needs and interests to be accommodated. Family participation is encouraged.
Family Support
It is important to help each resident continue to be involved with their family. Family members are encouraged to participate in the life of their loved one at Merrill Gardens. We want you to take advantage of support groups and participate in service planning meetings to increase your understanding of dementia, and to help us shape how it impacts your loved one and family.
Community Connection
At Merrill Gardens' Garden House, we often participate in events and social activities that reflect local community culture. Although activities and social outings may vary by location, we hope to help your loved one feel actively involved in the community.
