Tucked into the peaceful, secure hills of Connecticut's "quiet corner,"Juniper Hill Village offers those looking for an affordable rental community many features usually available only at higher-priced places. You can choose the apartment style that suits you best. There are 36 cozy garden-style apartments on the grounds in clusters of six and nine units, and a two-story main building with 64 units. The spacious landscaped grounds feature safe walking routes with convenient benches and picnic tables to enjoy the views. Our neighbor, the University of Connecticut, offers the vibrant cultural life of a major public university. Within one mile of Juniper Hill you can also find the Mansfield Senior Center offering trips, classes in everything from computers to tai chi, and numerous special events, and the Mansfield Community Center, a first-class fitness center. If you are not going out, there is a full calendar of events at Juniper Hill to choose from each week. There are also optional services to allow our residents to stay active and independent as long as possible. We serve two meals a day and a licensed assisted-living agency offers an additional level of care to those who qualify. Juniper Hill Village participates in the Section 8 program administered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development and follows their guidelines. Mansfield Retirement Community, a nonprofit board of directors, owns the facility.

PAYMENT OPTION
Juniper Hill Village has 100 apartments. There 36, one-bedroom cottage-style units. There are 5, two-bedroom units in the main building. The remaining 59 units in the main building are one-bedroom units. Ten of those units are accessible. The Section 8 rental assistance program of the Department of Housing and Urban Development subsidizes all of the apartments. All residents must meet the income requirements for rental assistance.

There are adjustments to income for medical expenses. Rent is based on 30% of adjusted income. The rent covers the cost of the apartment, heat, electricity, water and maintenance. Phone and cable are not included in the rent.
