Located in a tree-lined residential area of Joliet, Joshua
Arms offers 242 one-bedroom, maintenance-free apartments. Of these, 186 are
independent, apartment-style living units for seniors 62 years and older, or
persons who are mobility impaired. The other 56 units are Supportive Living
apartments for seniors 65 years and older.
Since 1978, Joshua Arms has served seniors in the Joliet
community by providing affordable housing. But Joshua Arms provides more than a
place to live. Joshua Arms provides a variety of additional services, amenities
and conveniences for seniors who want to live on their own, but in a safe and
supportive setting.
Independent Living
Each apartment includes a security communication system, Lifeline emergency call
system, Individually controlled heat and air conditioning, and wall-to-wall
carpeting in the living room and bedroom. Additional amenities include regularly
scheduled bus transportation, on-site country store, two social service
coordinators, a library with computer terminals, a full service dining room and

Supportive Living
Joshua Arms’ Supportive Living Program provides assistance for individuals 65
years and older. The one bedroom apartments are wheelchair accessible and
feature a large bathroom with roll-in shower, accessible cabinets and a kitchen
with easy access to refrigerator, freezer and microwave. Residents of the
supportive-living apartments receive special services, including three meals
daily plus snacks, housekeeping, laundry services upon request, personal care,
medication reminders and monitoring, an activities director and a social
services coordinator.

opportunities to older adults and individuals with disabilities in apartment
complexes in several Illinois communities including Aurora, Batavia, Chicago,
Danville, Deerfield, DeKalb, Dolton, Freeport, Joliet, Lansing, Rockford, Rock
