Assisted Living
Assisted Living at Hillcrest provides
a pleasant and comfortable lifestyle for residents who require assistance with
the routine and activities of daily life. Our Assisted Living associates are
chosen as much for their sensitivity and kindness as for their professional
skills. All involved with Assisted Living are guided by policies and practices
based on the fundamental principle of respect for an individual's dignity and
ability. To that end, resident autonomy and choice are nurtured and encouraged.
As needs change, associates work closely with resident, family and physicians
to stay informed and ensure that appropriate changes are made on a timely basis.
Residents in Assisted Living receive
comprehensive services including:

Assisted Living accommodations range
from single rooms to suites, all of which have private bathrooms. While window
treatments and carpeting are provided, residents supply their own furnishings
to create a familiar, comfortable atmosphere. Each room is equipped with a fire
sprinkler system and an emergency response system for summoning staff when needed.
There are also lounges for socializing and entertaining family and visitors.
Southwoods Lodge
Southwoods Lodge is the newest Assisted
Living facility on the Hillcrest campus. This unique residence is specifically
designed, furnished and appointed to provide a high quality home for people
living with dementia and related diseases that involve significant memory loss.
The architecture and interior details have been recognized as progressive, in
national publications, for their focus on a residential, rather than a medical
environment.
The 24 accommodations were created
on a residential scale and purposely limited to a small group setting. Specially
trained Hillcrest associates provide individual care plans for each resident
and ensure that they are implemented in a professional, thoughtful and caring
manner. There are private and semi-private rooms, each with its own bathroom.
Residents are encouraged to bring their own familiar furniture and decorations
with them to their new home at Southwoods Lodge.
A country kitchen encourages participation
in the familiar activities of preparing and sharing meals. The intimate living
room gives family and friends a pleasant place to visit with their loved ones.
Two colorful, secured perimeter gardens invite residents to rest, wander and
enjoy the temperate climate amid walks and flowers, grassy spaces and sheltered
nooks. All areas are closely monitored to ensure the safety of all residents.

Residential Living
Many high quality services and important
conveniences are included in your monthly fee, and optional services are also
available, including meals and housekeeping packages. Meals are available in
the Mountain View Dining Room on a regular basis or, spur of the moment for
visiting family or friends. A variety of meal plans are offered for breakfast,
lunch and dinner, and the choice is always yours. Another amenity option is
housekeeping services which may be arranged to free you of this chore.
In Residential Living at Hillcrest,
we provide your utilities (except telephone and cable television reception),
maintenance and repair on your home, expert groundskeeping, 24-hour security
and emergency call service, social and recreational activities and a progressive
wellness program. You can choose between two contract options for the financial
plan that suits you.
Manor Living
In Birch Court we offer Residential Living with Services and Assisted Living Services which facilitates aging-in-place. This 34-unit facility includes 14 studio apartments and 20 one-bedroom units. Birch Court includes two country kitchens, one located on each floor for resident use, two resident spas, one located on each floor for resident use and two living rooms for resident use. In addition, laundry services are available in two common laundry rooms-one on each floor for the benefit of Birch Court residents.
In addition to elevator service there are three strategically placed stairways. On the second floor there is a balcony that overlooks the Maury Smeltzer Lounge and provides space for resident activities. After construction is completed in 2005, Birch Court will have access to an exterior courtyard, a patio, and a balcony, overlooking the courtyard.
The building also includes a beauty shop and a conference room located on the first floor for the use of all Hillcrest residents.
New Pinecrest
Pinecrest offers Residential Living in one-bedroom, one-bedroom plus den, and two-bedroom residences. The first floor units have exterior patios and while the second-floor units have balconies. Pinecrest is adjacent to our state-of-the-art Aquatic and Fitness Center and our Village Center Meeting House scheduled for completion by November 2005.
Common areas include a beautiful lobby and a multi-purpose room on each floor. The multi-purpose rooms are equipped with kitchen facilities and can accommodate approximately 20 people for small group meetings or parties. In addition to elevator service there are two strategically placed stairways.
Aquatic and Fitness Center
The Aquatic and Fitness Center is located at 2700 A Street. The facility is a 10,500 square foot state-of-the-art fitness center equipped with pool and spa, exercise room, clinic, and therapy room. The Center has various types of exercise equipment and programs. Our programs facilitate staying active and managing better health, maintaining independent living, functional fitness at all levels, social stimulation and support, and enhancing the quality of life. Programs and classes include a preemptory Personal Fitness Evaluation conducted by our Wellness Director, followed by tailor-made exercise program recommendations to each resident.
Maple Court
Maple Court is scheduled to be completed in winter 2005 and will offer Residential Living in one-bedroom and two-bedroom residences. These 26 units will feature small exterior patios on the first floor and balconies on the second floor east of the state-of-the-art Aquatic and Fitness Center. Floor plans are available and presales have begun.
Village Center Meeting House
Hillcrest's Master Plan includes the development a new community center, called the Village Center. The Village Center will be the center for the entire campus. The Village Center will include a meeting facility for residents, dining venues, library, game room and gift shop along with other resident amenities. The Village Center will include A second story of 10 two-bedroom, two-bath residential living apartments. It will also enable Hillcrest to consolidate administrative offices.
