At Glen Island Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation, we strive to provide surroundings that make our residents feel well-cared for, comfortable, and safe. Glen Island Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation is located in a residential neighborhood convenient to highways and public transportation. The facility is located on Long Island Sound and has beautiful outdoor grounds for relaxing and socialization. Approved by Medicare, Medicaid, and applicable insurance, Glen Island Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation offers private and semi-private accommodations. Our aim is to provide residents and patients with a comfortable, active, friendly environment where their daily needs are taken care of by responsive compassionate professionals. We ask that our staff to care for each resident as if he or she were a family member. We pride ourselves in the longevity of our staff, as we feel this reflects the type of environment we have created and the type of person we employ. Our qualified employees, licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants, provide care twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Our friendly staff enjoy their work. This service offers caregivers a time out from taking care of individuals at home. The respite service is open to adults with disabilities, special needs and/or chronic and terminal illnesses. A single short-term stay may last up to 30 days. Additional stays are possible, for a maximum of 42 days in any given year. With the availability of our respite service, more home based caregivers can take a much deserved break, confident that their loved ones are being well taken care of in our facility.
