The building is in Downtown Royal Oak and is within walking distance of the farmer's market (which has dancing on Saturday nights), a fish store, city hall, police and fire departments, the public library, the post office, a drug store, churches, stage theater, movie theater, and numerous restaurants and stores

All apartments have balconies. The building has a van that is used for outings and special activities, such as trips to shopping malls, cider mills, co-op meetings and casinos. They have a beauty parlor in the building with very reasonable rates and a boutique which sells goods such as greeting cards and handmade items. The laundry room on the second floor has ten washers and ten dryers.

The building has lots of extra amenities. Twice a week a milkman makes deliveries. Every other week there is a post office set up in the building, and also every other week are frozen food deliveries. Open to all building members are many activities, including exercise classes twice a week, movie nights, pinochle and bingo.
