Eligibility: persons aged 62 years or older: a limited number of apartments are available for younger persons who are mobility impaired and need the special design features of an accessible unit.
Southgate Co - op is a friendly place to live. The members enjoy getting together for events such as bingo and parties. The building provides transportation to shops and there are plenty of side trips available. Pharmacies, restaurants, cleaners, shops, gas stations and banks are within walking distance from the building. It is also close to major expressways. Parking is free at Southgate. The Co - op has a gift shop, a beauty/barber shop, a large laundry room and a library/computer room. Maintenance personnel are available to keep the building clean and well - maintained. An emergency response worker is on duty during the evenings to take care of late night maintenance problems.

"Since moving to the Southgate co-op, my life has been busy. If I'm not running in and out or up and down. I am much busier than ever. I know at least by sight at least three quarters of the people. I have some friends who we play cards with almost every evening. There have been craft classes, I don't attend, but I enjoy having my friends tell of it. I don't attend the craft class since they changed the evening and on Thursdays. I have a book study class. For me and my children it means safety, no actual fear of someone breaking in; regulations to be followed for your pets; grounds to walk around safely. I really enjoy being there and hope to be able to for a long time."
